Go West Young Women! (or Putting an end to the Spinster Lifestyle)

Okay, I'm just going to put it out there. I'm single, there I said and have been for a long time. So when I saw this map via Gawker/ValleyWag via Ryan Seacrest's blog (yes, Seacreast *groan). First, it confirmed something I already knew, there are more single men on the West Coast than on the East Coast. As an East Coast dweller and New Yorker to boot, this is a fact that I am faced with daily.

So my first reaction when I saw this map was "I NEED TO MOVE TO L.A.!". But then, I realized that this is just a straight demo with no breakdown. Are these alleged single men of the heterosexual variety? Are they only technically single? As in are they in a Goldie Hawn/Kurt Russell, Brangelina situation, committed but not married on principle or whatever? I need more facts. Are they looking at women over 30? These are the important questions. And the age range is a bit worrisome 20-64, does this demo skew young or old? Do they have all of their teeth? These things matter.

Before I pack my bags and ride off into the sunset, I have to know are these men worth the effort?
