Staying in Touch

Tonight I realized that I have a problem. Too many e-mail addresses. I have a total of 5 but really only use one. So why do I have so many? Know idea. One is a holdover from college, that I didn't want to get rid of because what if someone from the past only had that one, did I really want to take the time to send out a blast to everyone who may have ever corresponded with me to let them know of my new e-mail address. Well, obviously I didn't. So today, I checked the oldest of my email addresses and discovered an e-mail from a former colleague with pictures of her wedding. THE E-MAIL WAS FROM JULY!!!

I feel horrible. Here was someone that I used to hang out with on a regular basis outside of work and considered a friend. And though we drifted apart I of course would have been nothing but happy for her. And here I am almost 5 months late with congratulations and I feel like a heel.

Which just leads me to think that no matter how many ways we have of staying in touch with one another it doesn't matter unless we take the time to pay attention. All the technology is there but we still have to make the effort and use it. So on Thanksgiving Eve I am thinking that I have a lot of e-mails to send and phone calls to make to friends I haven't seen or communicated with in a while just to let them know that they're still important to me and that I care.

Also, I really need to streamline (or just get rid of) my email addresses.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
