Mixtape Mondays

The mixtape is no longer a tape but it still exists. It is something to be treasured. A good mix can shape friendships, relationships, and change your day. I used to treasure the mixtapes that friends created in high school and college before we all switched to mp3s. It was excitement and mystery rolled into one. You were forced to listen all the way through. You could create a narrative just by how you ordered the songs. The mixtape takes time and a little creativity. Not to mention patience. And it gives the recipient insight into you that they may not otherwise have. When you are falling in or out of love, the mixtape can speak the words you are afraid to say.
For the first installment of "Mixtape Mondays", I'm sharing a favorite mix of mine that I've shared with a few friends. Originally dubbed "wake-up music" and created in Barcelona in 2006.
