16 & Pregnant

One of the surprises of summer television has been MTV's "16 & Pregnant". While I still lament the lack of videos on the music channel, I think that this program has been really great, which I've mentioned before. Last night's episode was particularly touching because the girl and her boyfriend decided to give the baby up for adoption, against their parents' desire. I'll admit I got a little teary-eyed when Catelynn, after being asked why she thought adoption was best, said that she wanted her daughter to have better than she had. I felt that this couple did something that was truly selfless and you could see that they struggled with their decision up until the very end. And I'll be watching the reunion show with Dr. Drew next week for sure. Brava MTV for coming thru with a program that is meaningful and not another "Real World". Though I will admit that "Is She Really Going Out With Him" is a source of hilarity.
