So Over this stuff

Today, Jezebel, pointing out the problems inherent in slaughtering sacred cows, cultural touchstones, like say The Godfather (this idea was sparked from Daniel Smith's article in Slate. So I started to think about the things that I don't like, that society at large has deemed fantastic or important. And while at one point it may have started out as me being a contrarian, I must admit that I have never truly been shy about pointing out the things that are cultural touchstones that I dislike. So I was with much bravado that I once declared my distaste for The Sun Also Rises in an English Lit. class, much to the dismay of my fellow undergrads. I just couldn't muster the sympathy for the privileged whiners in the book. No thanks.
