New Web Series Alert! - "Dating Rules From My Future Self"

"Dating Rules From My Future Self" is a new web series starring Shiri Appleby (she's also producing) on Hulu.  The show premiered on January 9 and new episodes are up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and is produced by Alloy Media, the company behind "Gossip Girl" and "Pretty Little Liars".

Here's the premise: Lucy (Appleby) is an app designer and finds herself engaged to a guy that she doesn't love and she starts to get text messages from herself 10 years in the future telling her not to go through with the marriage.

I really like this show for many reasons. First, the main character has a great job in tech, second she has supportive girlfriends that won't let her wallow.  Also her wardrobe is pretty great.  My first thought was she dresses like "Jess" Zooey Deschanel's character in "The New Girl", but it is not "adorkable" just cute.  Also, I like Appleby and have since she was on "Life Unexpected" and when that show was cancelled I was happy to see that she got another gig so soon.

The production quality of the show is really high and Appleby talks about it here.  I think that quality of the show is also made possible by the sponsors of the show Ford, Revlon, Biore and Schick Quattro. The product integration is not obnoxious and if it means that the show can pay for the great production I'm all for it.  I recommend checking this show out.
